I’m not afraid to lose
I don’t mind the pain
I’m not afraid to choose
I don’t mind the gain
I’ll never be vain
By feeding my enemies
and starving my friends
I’ll keep a delicate balance of what everyone wants and need
I don’t have to look back all the time
No need to remember what you already passed and where you failed
I learned from it and bare it in my heart and mind for all time
I quite like my enemies for what they are
It’s my friends and loved ones I fear
I don’t mind those who hate me
They can’t hurt me or reach my mind
It’s the ones who I love or ones who love me
I need to beware of
They are the ones who can bring tears and break my heart
By feeding my enemies
and starving my friends
I’ll keep a delicate balance of what everyone wants and need
No more words to be spoken
And no one to get the token
No love in the wrong direction
Just the delicate balance of power in my heart and mind
Watching the days rush passed me so fast
Only the loss of love can as my brake stop me at last
By feeding my enemies
and starving my friends
I’ll keep a delicate balance of what everyone wants and need
” My choice ” , continues the exacting process of poetic examination of the self which has already been laid bare in Jan’s preceding works. The intensity and clarity of this particular poem reinforces my view that there is a substantial amount of material already accumulated to start work on a novel or playscript with.
Very well written.
found it very interesting:-)
Thought provoking; ‘feeding enemies, starving friends’.
