Me and my dog

O dog! My experiences about life

Resonate so much with yours.

Aren’t we love and compassion incarnate?

Don’t we live for love alone?

Remember what Rumi said,

‘Since love is everything that exists.’

Yes we exist for love…….and nothing else.

We never made of ourselves

Prisoners of time and space,

Nor did we follow a caravan of despair.

The arrow of our compassion

Never felt the need for a bow

And when we did falllike

Red leaves of Maples in Autumn,

Our silent resilience helped us

Bounce back proving that we are

The perfect epitome of strength

Where the Yin and the Yang are complimentary.

Each downfall kindled hope and love

And like roses drenched in dew,

We showed our pristine beauty to the world

Enjoying the fleeting moments

Of profundity of passionate verve

With clear-sighted earnestness

While the lilies bloom in the silent lake

Teased by the wanton wind.

O my dog! Never leave me alone.

If we die, together we will die

With no regrets or teary frets

For ours was a life well lived,

Our sadness like the soul-wrenching

Notes of the violin

And our joys,drunk in love

Like the colors of the rainbow

Close to each other

In a great love making.
