Life’s Tests

Tiger roars, hyena cries in heart
sealed in wrapper of abyss arch
lips pinned up with taste of miasma
nerves cringing to steep chorea

volcano of magnitudes
lava trickling in arteries
mountains of grey stacks infinite
black shutters fall on either side

seizing every tissue with spasms
crossed barricade of emotions
whizzing past time precious in waste
wonder what fault mine in life’s tests
