Leaves for my tears

He leaves me barefoot
Bathing in the sun
The tarmac road
Like a serpent is
Tempting me with his green oasis
Palm leaves are shading my eyes and fresh springs are singing songs of abundance
The thread of silk
Turned in a black, sticky viper
Woke me up to the incandescent
Sand sending arrows straight
In my new found soul
He left me barefoot in the desert
Banished from heavens
No leaves to hide my sadness

An exquisite,multi-layered poem with an underlying symbolic resonance.Good to see you back, iulia.

Suffused with a certain world weariness, the poem carries the reader into the author’s existential cosmology; the lyrics to the anthem of which might have been penned by Jacques Brel.
