Languishing thoughts

My frigid demeanor doesn’t stop me
Feeling the warmth in the hidden embers of life.
Washy emotions get stirred by a passing glance
Like a placid lake gets into whirls of waves
When a stone is thrown at it, for an instance.
Diminutive thoughts as if dive into a whirlpool
Heating me up for a moment and then they cool.
These flashes of passion scald me as ever before
And wary of the pain I prefer to languish again.
