What can be more enchanting,
Than a radiating smile on a face.
But trust me it can be a task so daunting.
to decipher what that smile conveys.
A child’s giggling or laughter
is most simple as to state.
But as we and they grow up.
Things don’t remain so simple
And the variety too increases.
The blank look,blank smile duo,
Shy smile with eyes cast down,
Daring smile ,with challenge in eyes,
You really think you are good enough to be mine!
Covert glances,flirtatious invites
Then comes the marriage with smiles radiating to the eyes.
They may last a few years but they are shaded by,
The doubtful glances, fake smiles in surrender
The ones who smile to hide extra time spent in a gentleman’s disguise.
Age catches on and the smiles get wrinkled too
With crow’s feet catching on fast.
Dentures take away the plump swollen pout
And i find it more honest and real.
Old people smile when they feel small
Precious moments and so..
That smile is precious of all
It should be cherished, clicked and framed
By one and all.
A fascinating,reflective,and endearing poem.
A piece which metaphorically radiates a cheerful disposition and a plethora of keenly observed facial expressions that only a true poet could interpret.
