In many ways what we are.

We can gather the sky and make it ours
Own what is worth owning
Everything can shine in gold and silver
We can show it forward so everyone can see
But what we take from Earth
We must let go again one day

I am poor in many ways
and so rich in others
I am lucky in many ways
and so unfortunate on others
I have so many things to say in many ways
and on few so little.

Sailing in the sea of things we created
Make it worth the time to live
We love all the big and small things
Forget all the things we should remember
Save it to the day we go from here
I stand here and know what I will give

I am wise in many ways
and so stupid on others
I am in many ways an easy target
and so hard on others
I know in many ways what life is like
and that it is too short for all of us

We are deceived to chase the dreams of others
Throughout life, we completely wander
Provides proudly the most expensive we own
Receives only replications of dreams created by the few
Tell me you do not see it like me?
Because then this will become a shock for you

I can in many ways chase all the stars in the sky
and never catch them all or just the one of them
I am in many ways just a brief glimpse in everyone’s life
and only touched a little of it before we went our seperate ways
I know in many ways that life ends for all of us
and will live on in others

We are rewarded for our virtue and effort
Blind of their shining dead sport
Think we find happiness in an illusion
Let me tell you something else
When you bow to others
Do you cry like a prisoner?

I can certainly say to you in many ways
that we have all sold out
I can only try to reach you in many ways
and hope you can understand my words
I can only tell you in a way
that we should spend time on us

I can do so in many ways
Yes, I could show you the truth
I’m in as many ways like you
like the voice within you telling the truth
I’m in so many ways the same to you as you to me
I dare you to reply on what I’m telling you?

About jachso

Hey Destiny Poets. I live in Denmark about 90 km from Copenhagen and works in Roskilde as a teacher and mentor. I'm probably not like most men of my age and yes I am aged 50 years old. I've tried a lot of jobs without finding what I'm passionate about. Writing, I have always loved and I was probably just 14 years old when I produced my first poem. I have not yet been released some of my poems, but I hope it happens one day. I just finished a novel which I would like to have published, now the time and talent show whether I have the ability to write. Poetry has a special meaning for me and this is where I really feel at home. My life has sometimes been marked by many losses. In the mid eighties, I lost my fiance at the time when the accident happened was pregnant. She lost control of the car and drove herself and her child, who was on his way thereby, to death. It has really made its mark on my life and way of thinking. In the late nineties, I had problems with my back and had to seek other avenues to support myself. I finally decided to enroll at university and was admitted to the humanist line. I read philosophy, science, psychology, journalism and history, but philosophy and psychology is my major interest. I thrive today in the RUC aka Roskilde University just 25 km from Copenhagen. My job is to guide and teach, and it is a job with speed and that gives me a lot again. I have two collections of poems ready to be released, if I can find a publisher who will publish them. I have no children, it would obviously be my lot in life although I have tried, but luck never smiled at me that way. If you have any questions for me so I hope you just ask away all you want, I'll respond as soon as I have read the questions. With kindest regards from Jan Sorensen

A masterly exposition on the existential vicissitudes which we all encounter and also a commentary on the state of the world, wrought with the author’s inimitable poetic acumen.

Amazing a penetrative verse which is very much gives us a glimpse of our fake exishtance. Great work
