I Wonder

( By Jan Phillips )

I wonder if He knows what I was like before He came
I wonder if He knows that my life was full of shame
I wonder if He knows just where to put the blame;

I wonder if He knows of the change that’s taken place
I wonder if He knows who would want to plead my case
I wonder if He knows how much I need His loving grace;

I wonder if He knows what through my eyes I see
I wonder if He knows what each of us will be
I wonder if He knows what He has done for me;

I wonder if He knows for me it’s not a game
I wonder if He knows I’ll never be the same
I wonder if He knows my spirit never will be tame;

I wonder if He knows I gave my soul to Him
I wonder if He knows the futures getting grim
I wonder if He knows our chances are so slim;

I wonder if he knows all things both good and bad
Oh yes, I’m sure He has ever since He was a lad
For God knows all things both the happy and the sad.

About Jan P

I was born and raised and still live in the great state of Oklahoma in the U.S.A. I live in Oklahoma City and have lived her for over 40 years. Came from a small town in eastern Oklahoma. I was raised on a farm as my daddy was a sharecropper. I worked for the Department of Defense for over 30 years. I am now retired and trying to catch up on all the things I didn't get to do when I worked. I have written poetry for many years, but only recently started writing more since I have found a place where others can enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
