I love

but when this life doth pass
the love I leave behind
shall no longer speak
of a love that is lost
but of a love that lives.

And all the things I counted gain
and all the things I counted loss
shall pass and fade into nothingness
but for those I have held nigh.

I love:
and when I give up on love
I would have given up once for all.
For love does not hold in shackles
but sets the shackled free.

And every whisper, every tear
shall wash away every fear
love shall last when all things pass
in life’s long wintry terrain.

Beautiful – I would change doth for does. Love does not hold in shackles
