I held the pole

I held the pole

Around my arms

And cried.

The pole, eyes filled with grief,

Looked at me.

After that I had cried

To my heart’s content,

I heard the pole speaking

To me in hushed whispers………

Cry not dear friend,

Look at me,

I am holding part of this roof,

Head always held high,

Crying not and despairing not.

You too are holding

Part of this sky

On your shoulders.

Crying solves not problems.

Stay focused on your responsibilities.

Come rain,come sunshine,

Come thunder, come lightning,

Fear not and cry not.
