His bluff and bluster in the early days of the marriage–
Bacchus’s heady stuff covertly supporting his carriage;
Tipsy pals prompting and running riot all over the town–
Like all good things ending, one day come tumbling down..
Left praying his ‘punch’ line would still land him the pay-off
But, as ‘slated’, she lands the punch and has the last laugh !

Thank you for your perspicacious comment.
A wonderful , pithy poem depicting how booze-induced ‘bluff and bluster’ , is brought down to earth by the beloved’s’ punch(line) !
Delighted by your comment. Thank you.
From Wining to whining is a very reflective poem of treachery and pitfall,to our own karmic deeds by one or the other ways in the ordeals of existence .
