Forgiveness

The silence of brokenness
reside in her eyes.

Like the drizzle that seethes
from the brow of the skies,
she restlessly draws
the sword of accumulated pain
brandishing her anguish
like lightning across the plains.
to strike at the root
of undeniable hate,
shutting her ears
to the thunder that rolls
and rains over every
wrinkle her face betrays.

The cries of brokenness
emptied from her eyes:

Salt springs that ensure
forgiveness and delight.
