For Jim
In the face of adversities
What follows is a raptured soul and a scarred face
A desperation for closeness
A scream for help,
Life suffocates, the pain that pierces,
The pain that dwells
Release me from this agony,
Pull away these desires
Smash the breath
But, when it all subsides what triumphs is life and sorrows dispel.
Intriguing; but I daresay that the casual reader might ask who is the Jim referred to in the title ?
I wrote this poem when I saw the movie ‘The Doors’. It is Jim Morrison…
I wrote his immediately after I finished seeing the movie….
Alas poor Jim Morrison one of Rock music’s quintessentially wasted talents, much like Jimi Hendrix,Janis Joplin and Elvis, all of them died too young.
Yes Sir, they created great music though, but lived a life on the edge. Totally bereft of reality.
