Eye shadows

Hold the lamp
the light
within your eyes .

Shade
my eyes,
the lampshade
your eyelids
in perpetual wonder
of what goes on within.

Within are the maps
that lead you on
through
the dark troughs of love.

You drink from waterfall
hidden behind
and plunge in to wet
your hot breath.

My love
your lips were warm
but the kiss was cold
cold like the tear drops
frozen on my eyelashes
as they touched yours
to keep time frozen
till the next.

Shelter my eyes
embroidered lashes,
let our eyelids guard
tales within.
