Leaves from the book of my life
Lay dry in the backyard of my heart
I walk over them
sleep over them
Crush and crumble them
How do I get the courage
To throw them
Though dry
Every leaf carries
A whiff of some chapter of my life
Some carry a smile on my lips
Others carry the tears in my eyes
The sound of my laughter
Sometimes a wind of exuberance takes them away
Only to make me forget myself
A sense of emptiness and non-existence forces me to call them back
The leaves from the book of my life
Dry Leaves
