Dreaming in my Doorway

Lost in my thoughts,
dreaming about you;
With a bluebell in my hand
I’m counting on your love.

Dreams swirl around in my green sea
tossed by my emotional bouts;
My winged fancies fly in the blue sky
soaring higher than my own free will.

For you I’ve kept my doors open;
My heart knows that one day,
the fragrance of my love will bring you;
All through the deserts and seas of life.

Some yellow and some green leaves
will reach to your door too;
Messages written on their flip sides
Are all unread since many springs.

Although, I’m looking down
yet my eyes are up in the sky;
Scanning the seven heavens,
searching a decree ordained for us.

About Nikhat Bano

I am an ESP (English for Specific Purposes) Instructor by profession. I love to write romantic and spiritual poems and I find a great sense of relief after penning down my thoughts on paper. It has now become a passion for me and will continue as long as I live.
