Dream cocoon

Sleep she said.

I built a cocoon
Of her fragrance,
drawing from
the sheer power
of her nearness
and buried
Myself in it.

Dawn came
and woke me.

Her fragrance
Lingered .

The cocoon remained
a reminder .

It was not a dream?

” Dream cocoon ” ,as the title suggests ,is a soothing , reflective poem.
The overall effect and impact of the poem is somewhat lowered by what is a superfluous final line , “it was not a dream ?” which adds nothing to the poem and distracts the reader from fully savouring what ought to be a much stronger last line, the cocoon remained a reminder.
