( By Jan Phillips )
I do not doubt God
For he is the Great I AM,
He can do all things
In spite of man.
He knew before
That His son would die,
And He did it anyway
He does not lie.
I doubt myself
Because He gave me freewill,
Knowing what I would do
I know not still.
Could I give up all things earthly
For a God so good?
I hope so,
Do you think I should?
God set up boundaries
Which He can cross,
If He so desires
And it’s no great loss.
I don’t know what I’m prepared to give
To save a life even His,
Could I give a grandchild if He asked me to,
I don’t know, it’s a quiz.
I’m not as loving as my God
He gave His Son for mankind’s sake,
I doubt what I would do
I guess I’m a real flake.
I think I better get on my knee
And pray that God can forgive me,
For not loving Him enough
And being too blind to see,
That the only doubt is within me.
