After I ate a whole box of bonbons
my demons are at rest
After the demons are tamed
my angels float around like leaves
swirling in the autumn’s dance
After the dance is over
the smell of humid earth penetrates my lungs
and some rotten sadness floods my chest
After I ate a whole box of bonbons
After the demons are tamed
After the dance is over
Come sit with me in darkness…
This resonates with Alice-in-Wonderland style tropes. Here in Iulia’s narrative for instance, the narrator eats bonbons; although the outcomes of the substances ingested are pretty much like Grace Slick’s rendition of the classic ” White Rabbit “. Far out ,man.
Most honored that my humble poem was compared with such great works! Thank you, Louis Kasatkin
