Come Back

My God, My God, how I do love thee
Once I fell in love with you it’s easier for me,
You’ve given me so much more than I dreamed
More than I ever wanted or so it seemed.

Your love means more to me than all the earth
You have given me more than I was ever worth,
You gave me life everlasting
It was there just for the asking.

Oh how I love thee
Because you are there not just for me,
You are the savior of all humanity
Your love knows no boundary.

If it wasn’t for you I just can’t see
How this world could ever be,
I don’t think I could stand it if I didn’t know
That you would be back soon to defeat our foe.

I long for the touch of your hand
Only you can save this land,
I want to be able to joyfully sing
So please come back and be our King.

About Jan P

I was born and raised and still live in the great state of Oklahoma in the U.S.A. I live in Oklahoma City and have lived her for over 40 years. Came from a small town in eastern Oklahoma. I was raised on a farm as my daddy was a sharecropper. I worked for the Department of Defense for over 30 years. I am now retired and trying to catch up on all the things I didn't get to do when I worked. I have written poetry for many years, but only recently started writing more since I have found a place where others can enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
