Long forgotten, abandoned, their eyes sunk
Umpteen souls await at farewell gate
Cared for by borrowed hands, frail bodies shrunk
Eh brethren, for drop of pure love they crave
In group we set out this bright Christmas eve
Modest gifts to grace occasion some carried
Christmas carols for music under sleeve
Jokes for fun and some kids accompanied
Many a gifts I have received in life
But this one by far proved of crowns a crown
At Christmas they say Santa arrives
Doubted I till this day, dare not ever frown
At their toothless smiles my heart rejoiced
Wrinkles creased foreheads appeased my soul
Tears of joy flowed as rivers on cheeks moist
Their kisses divine illumined new shore
This Christmas gift, will cherish till last day
With peace to repeat, joy in heart engraved!

(Dedicated to old homes. It was an unforgettable experience and one of the most satisfying days in my life)
A moving testimony of the power of Christmas and the moment of epiphany experienced among the underprivileged elderly.Lovely !
