Blessings

( By Jan Phillips )

As I sat there eating my turkey and dressing
I began to think there might be something missing?

Had I really thanked God for all of my blessings?
So I prayed.

I need to thank you God for all the people I have met
For they have touched my soul and I shall never forget.

They have helped me through my days as I have worked, and played, and slept;
And if I live forever they will be there with me yet.

Thoughts of them sustain me even in my darkest hours.
My memories of them are there to work there powers.

For each person who touches my life and leaves,
That is a brand new blessing I receive.

So God forgive me for not thanking you before,
And keep the blessings coming once more!

About Jan P

I was born and raised and still live in the great state of Oklahoma in the U.S.A. I live in Oklahoma City and have lived her for over 40 years. Came from a small town in eastern Oklahoma. I was raised on a farm as my daddy was a sharecropper. I worked for the Department of Defense for over 30 years. I am now retired and trying to catch up on all the things I didn't get to do when I worked. I have written poetry for many years, but only recently started writing more since I have found a place where others can enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
