like elijah of old
i went down and sat under a juniper tree
i saw the bleak concrete landscape
and the utter desolation of the urban spirit
the loneliness amidst the teeming crowd overwhelmed me
and in the angst of the moment i laid down
and slept the sleep of the troubled
in the awakening moment coming out of the miasma of sleep
i saw a white figure gently touch me
i opened my eyes fully and found beside me
a carton of milk and a loaf of bread freshly baked
