I see not through the facade of pretence
Nor from behind the curtains of delusion,
My crusading spirit and calloused soul
Have taught me to see with the eyes of truth.
And the sun will rise again
To smile over my truthfulness.
I have seen man’s colors,for ever changing,
With changing moods, changing times and changing motives,
Each one trying to out-smart the other
While the chrysanthemums bloom in silence,
Destiny plays its fiddle with tunes multiple
And the sun will rise again
To smile over the smart games of man.
I cry over the excruciating pains
Of the innocent losing their lives,
Women and girls being abused, exploited, torn asunder,
Yesterday’s fond dreams gone with the wind
And tomorrow’s dreams beleaguered and shattered
And the sun will rise again
To see what man has done of man.
I have seen romance and love-making,
Far from the romantic ideologies of love,
With patterns and postures kaleidoscopic,
And yet, only a few amorously nascent,
Alarmingly good for an adrenaline rush.
And the sun will rise again
To smile over lovers with serenity sensual.

Not after reading this beautiful poem
Thanks Mangeni for this mind blowing comment, feeling happy.
An optimistic, inspirational poem revealing intricacies of hypocrisy and modern day complexities of
Socio- Cultural practices and other related aspects. As usual fantastic penning Pramila.
Speechless ! In spite of Man’s chameleonic behavior and his innate exploitative nature, the poet ‘s optimism is unshaken.A wonderful poem !
