With uncompromising clear-sightedness,
A man walked in noble strides
And his voice said,
‘May all men love their neighbours as themselves.’
As soon as he said this,
Walls around houses crumbled like dust,
Neighbours started kissing and hugging each other,
All previous strifes and differences evaporated,
Forming clouds laden with rain.
The great spiritual genius smiled
And his voice said,
‘May all those who have harmed our children
Disappear from the surface of planet earth.’
Thousands of men and women dropped
Like rotten apples from trees.
They fell in a bottomless hole,
All crying and repenting for their vile actions.
Looking at farmers fighting a crippling drought,
The great master’s eyes welled up with tears.
‘Kill not yourselves dear brothers,
The rains will come and your crops
Will dance with the wind
And your money bags will double in size.
The voice became angry
And the birds of passage resting on the lighthouse
Shrieked and shivered with fear.
And his voice said,
‘May all marauding pirates, false leaders,
The corrupt, the robbers and all those
Hindering the lives of righteous men
Perish and never be born again
Until the great judgement day.
There was a deaffening silence.
The wicked had passed like sand
Through the hourglass.
The good men and women from all walks of life
Stood still, knowing not what would happen.
And the voice said,
‘Who are those who will help me
In reconstructing our planet?’
Together, the good men, women and children said,
‘We will, dear Master.
And a new world sprung up
With consummate skill of men and women
With beautiful minds.
