A middle class parent

I see families flying away to distant lands,

to enjoy the sun,the moon and the sands.

I see families partying hard till late night

whereas I force you to sleep early every night

I read about expensive gifts parents shower on their kids,

and all that I do is to fulfill bare necessities.

I feel guilty and sad when you look at latest toys and gadgets,

and then be so understanding not asking for them.

All I can fulfill are your daily needs,

and give you decent life and good education.

All I plan is a secure future for you

and a happy present, with my love.

Will you blame me one day ?

Will you say that I gave you a boring childhood?

I wish you will know whatever I did,

I did for you and your blessed life.

For I am just a middle class parent,

can’t afford more than this.
