A Fairy Princess

Felicity is a fairy
Who happens to be
Not just a fairy
But a princess you see

She often goes walking
In the garden alone
Except for the presence
Of an Deva or Gnome

This stroll is quite special
The stars are so bright
She wears her red dress
Which sparkles at night.

Night feels like rapture
Her wings are stretched out
Her arms up to capture
Flowers scent round about

She’ll be crowned queen fairy
In a year and a day
When all other fairies
Will abide what she´ll say

She grants all your wishes
The big and the small
A princess and fairy
With Magic for all!

Trawling through the ocean of archived poetry,as I am wont to do,the pleasure of the unexpected catch, the frisson of the previously overlooked “maritime”treasure is always a strong possibility. Johanne’s , “A Fairy Princess” is wonderfully simple and a pleasurable read.Worth trawling the archives for!

Wonderful ! I forgot to add that the poem is having a natural flow to it which makes it all the more lyrical. Thanks for sharing.

Thankyou Lokesh! I wrote it as an entry to a competition for an idea for a childrens book some years ago. I did not hear any response so I guess another theme was chosen. 🙂 Anyway, I do believe in fairies…being from Ireland…they are all over the place! Lol

I am so happy you enjoyed it Suzanne. I have learned that it is important to remain childlike as that is how we have access to the universes magical energy and experience its magical touch! Ask from that place of childlike innocence and wonder and the juicy anticipation and willingness to receive. Then it is heard loud and clear and is easily given. I just love that! 🙂
