As I lay sleeping you are awake,
doing your daily deeds.
Sleeping Meadows, Whispered Winds
when all you hear are squeaks.
As I lay sleeping, eyes shut tight
your eyes are wide awake.
For gentle sounds, now hushed, and still
Caress my peaceful ears
With you the sun stays bright.
As I lay sleeping, weary bodies relax
Yet, busy your day, til late.
When once you’re home, you slink on down
upon your couch, and say
‘Now it’s me to lay asleep
and HA, for pity sake
Now it’s time for you to work,
and rest indeed I’ll take!’
