Generals Don’t Fall

Generals don’t fall
My teenage years started with your general, my friend…

I have witnessed his fall
on a Christmas day
watching his televised execution
over and over again
twenty two millions souls savored every bullet
all that we were left with
a fleet less sea
a soul less people
a jackals teared country
More than twenty years later, it hit me:
I had lived and relived
The Patriarch’s fall, my visionary friend
and, on a funny side, back then, they have translated your title:
The Patriarch’s Autumn
On our lands the generals don’t fall!
